Short Take: Meltdown Madness Grips Fleeing Foreigners

TOKYO (majirox news) – I am hearing of several event cancelations because of the earthquake, but also many expats are leaving for fear of a meltdown or catastrophic occurrence at the Fukushima nuclear power plant. Some have already managed to get flights out and others are taking families out as a precaution tomorrow or this week. They are heading to Bangkok, Australia etc.

I was told it would take 7 hours to get to Narita Airport, but my husband just told me this is not true. Have to be careful with information. The above expats leaving is at least true with some of our Women Group ladies at the Tokyo American Club, TAC.

TAC is operating with limited staff or at least they have been since the earthquake. I guess they closed some outlets early as well.

Hancock is the President of TAC’s Women’s Group and chairs the Charity Ball of the American Chamber of Commerce in Tokyo. TAC has more than 3,500 members from 50 nations.
