Update, Day Four: Edano Confirms Explosion, Radiation Levels Not Harmful

Top Government Official Yukio Edano confirmed that a hydrogen explosion took place at 11:01 a.m. at the Fukushima Dai-ichi power plant No. 3 reactor.

This is the second hydrogen explosion at the Fukushima plant since Saturday afternoon. While the radiation levels are not harmful, the radiation levels are expected to increase.

“The reactor chamber is not damaged,” Edano said. “However, six workers were injured.”
