TOKYO (majirox news) — Honda is set to reveal its Small Sports EV Concept at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show, which is the tentative name for the vehicle. Honda implied that it will inspire a production model in the near future.
The sketches show a mid-engine open-two-seater with a trim, streamlined appearance, indented sides and a bold graphic running around the front of the car.
The compact car features a plug-in-hybrid powertrain, with an engine drive mode for enthusiastic driving or automatic drive mode for more relaxed journeys, Honda said in a statement.
“The next-generation EV sports model maximizes the fun of driving while achieving excellent environmental performance,” Honda said.
The automaker added that the vehicle is designed for easy and fun mobility for urban and long distance driving in future cities.
Honda will also introduce six other concept cars at the show.
Honda is keeping mum about the compact car, but said more details will be announced at the show on Nov. 30.
