The world’s longest sushi roll, 1.5 miles (2.5 km)

TOKYO (majirox news) — Not to be beat by the largest sushi mosaic in the Ukraine, a Japanese restaurant at the city of Yekaterinburg in Russia made enough sushi rolls to break the Guinness Book of World Records. The roll beats out the previously world record of 2.033 kilometers set by the Council of Japanese Postal Workers’ Union in 2007.

Determined to break the world record, a shopping center set out to make a 2.5 kilometers (1.5 miles) long sushi roll.

It took 15 hours for 60 chefs to craft 1.5 tons of rice, 500 kg (1,102 lbs) of cucumbers, 14 thousand pieces of seaweed and 25 kg (50 lbs)of sesame into this massive meal. It is estimated that the roll could be sliced up into more than 60,000 pieces of sushi.
